Our First Week of Pre-K “I Can!”

image

Our first week in Pre-K was lots of fun! We are off to great start! Miss Lacie and I have really enjoyed getting to know your kiddos this week and we are so excited for what this year will bring! This week we wanted to have the kids focus on all the things they “Can Do” in preschool from learning to cut and paste to following directions and lining up! We used the fun book by Eric Carle “From Head to Toe” and an actual can to have the kids think of all the things they can do. We got to paint with cans and make out school out of basic shapes. To celebrate the start of a great year we had the kids bring in their teddy bear and we followed clues from Miss Krysten’s Teddy Bear who was hiding in our play house with some teddy graham treats for everyone! We used our sense of smell to sort these yummy treats before we got to eat them! Every kid also got to tell us about their special teddy bear and we had some fun dancing with them too!

Our First Week of Preschool “I Can!”

imageOur first week of preschool was a blast! We had so much fun with your kiddos! They all did so well and we are so excited for what this year will bring as we get to watch them learn and grow.
To start off our school year, we read the book “From Head to Toe” by Eric Carle. This was a fun way to introduce the kids to all the things they “Can Do” from cutting and pasting to learning how to line up! We enjoyed letting the kids paint with cans and use basic shapes to create their “school.” We introduced letters using a fun book titled “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and allowed the kids the chance to stamp letters of their choosing on their own chicka chicka boom boom tree.
We also have been learning about each other and discussing the value of teamwork and to go along  with  this we let the kids make their very own friendship wreathe. The kids all worked together to stamp their hands all over the wreathe and not only did we see that we needed everyone’s help to make our beautiful wreathe complete, we had fun exploring how the colors mixed together and feeling the paint on our hands was fun too!
